I hear it’s really hard to get a table at Brasserie Gabrielle. Even harder than those of us calling The Polo Bar everyday. As always, Chanel stole my heart with their theatrical genius and how seamlessly the clothes fit the mood of the season.
The Fall/Winter 2015 collections gave us pretty clear trends to chase – and better yet, trends we don’t have currently in our closet (as someone working in retail, that’s always music to my ears). But the shopaholic in me is scared to contemplate the fate of my bank account at the end of this shopping spree. I’m always torn about when I think it is the appropriate time to talk about seasonal trends – when they first hit the runway, where all we can do is sign and lust after pieces that are still six months too far or when they have finally hit the floors and we can run around town trying to get a hold of these floral Valentino booties. I think I like to personally find a balance between the two – it’s nice to have something to think directionally about but I love walking into a store on a cold day and getting a beautiful scarf to wrap around instantly – it’s this whole immediate gratification mentality we live in, go figure!
White is one of my favorite colors and I’m so excited that this is a central color for Fall this year. I personally like the all white look but if that seems too extreme – blending in shades of camel, black and grey also make for a beautiful fall transition.

Fur Collars were another big trend for Fall and I loved it because it is an easy accessory to add on and yet instantly refreshes the look of an old parka for instance. Accessories were a big focus for fall to use it to update elements of our wardrobe.
A trend that continues to carry through seasons and collections is Fringe. But for Fall we saw it EVERYWHERE – I mean on sleeves, on hemlines, shoes, handbags, scarves – you get the picture! So you can go all out or find little ways to incorporate this into your wardrobe. Either ways – you cannot not have it in your closet.
Alexander Wang, Hussein Chalayan, Burberry
Stay tuned for more trends coming up on the blog and in the meantime you can shop some of the pieces I am coveting below.
