I’m not going to lie, it’s been a particularly rough winter.
And trying to keep any semblance of style through slush and dangerously icy snow had me wanting to stay curled up in bed. But then real life doesn’t allow for 12 hour marathons of Game of Thrones everyday and bills have to be paid. So I managed to drag myself out of the apartment. These photos were shot on a particularly snowy day around Brooklyn and I consider the fact that I did not fall flat on my butt, a major success.
Ponchos are difficult to style as it’s hard to find the right balance between volume and structure but I’ve always loved wearing them f0r some reason. Also, ponchos aren’t really built for warmth most of the times and air always gets in (these photos nicely conceal the fact that I am wearing a woolen tan coat under it).
I really liked the Navajo print on this Zara poncho as it was light enough to not look I was drowning in it. Adding a wide brimmed hat seemed to mirror the boho-ness of the poncho and the thigh high boots helped add an extra layer of warmth.
Hope you’ve been enjoying the warm weather this week and for those of you in warmer climates – I am very jealous!
