Valentine’s day gift ideas for him

It’s that time of year ladies when PDA is not inappropriate even if it isn’t your thing.

When it comes to making wishlists, we always tend to have a running list on hand.  So, to not forget the men in our lives and to help with Valentine’s day gift ideas for him, I created three lifestyle driven lists. One for the traveller, the other for the professional and who doesn’t fall for a guy who loves the classics?

For the traveller, we have 1. Everlane dope kit and 2. Everlane duffle bag. These make for great individual presents or giftables together. Also, the felt-esque look ages well and can work either for the sporty or preppy guy. Whenever I travel, I’m always in need of additional plug points for all the technology we find ourselves addicted to. So I figured, why not gift your man something functional yet beautiful with 3. Shinola extension cord. I’ve thrown in a mix of personalized items through all the lists because I think adding a personal touch just goes the extra mile 4. Cuyana customizable passport case comes in a variety of colors.

Wouldn’t it be great for a guy on the go, to always have his travel kit ready? 5. Harry’s Shave set helps with that. Going back to personalization, Le Labo has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Each bottle is filled and packaged in front of you and the label is printed to your specifications. 6 Le Labo Vetiver is light yet musky and native to India (ironic). It happens to be my favorite scent on a man.

There’s nothing sexier than a man who knows how to carry a suit. So let’s deconstruct all the key elements for him.

Thom Browne has been my favorite menswear designer for a long time and I wish I could afford to buy his womenswear collection too (but coming back to point). 7. Thom Browne grosgrain shirt is a good start to investment dressing and the grosgrain helps break the monotony of a white shirt. 8. Suit supply Napoli suit comes in the perfect navy and they also allow men to custom make their suits without breaking the bank. The customer service is always great.

A 9. Burberry Newburg briefcase is needed to carry to files and laptops around the city. 10. Lacquer Embassy The Mews Square is the brand signature and adds just that tiny element of cheekiness to break up a formal look. 11. Miansai rope bracelet is another great option for a guy who wants just a little element of sport but doesn’t want to loose the formality of a suit. When we speak of investment dressing, no man’s wardrobe would be complete without a great coat. 12. Theory Wythe wool overcoat is a classic and the lean fit looks great on most men. 13. Saks Fifth Avenue belt provides a simple but beautifully made belt to complete the look.

It’s easy and hard at the same time, to shop for a man who lives for the classics. He has his signature scents –  14. YSL La nuit de l’homme  and 15. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. and  quotes 16. Walt Whitman Leaves of Grass because he’s lost count of how many times he read it. He lives in the moment and we can get him the 17. Fujifilm Instant camera to always have handy.  Next up 18. The Godfather Collection – that’s an offer he can’t refuse.  For the man who enjoys his scotch and cubans, a sleek stainless steel  19. Cigar cutter. And lastly, for the  late night serenades to moon river 20. Crosley record player.

Okay, so a fair portion of those gifts were more for us than the men in our lives, but they don’t need to know that right?

Happy v-day shopping!
